What is a Twist Lock Cable

What is a Twist Lock Industrial Cable and What Do They Do?

A Twist Lock Cable is a form of control cable and is used when the application requires the ability to “lock” in an exact position.

Twist Lock Cables have an inner cable and an outer sheath but unlike their cousin the Push Pull Cables, these guys transmit motion via twisting.  The inner cable has a spiral or Helical shape and when twisted the motion at one end is replicated at the other.

When rotational movement is required Twist Lock Cables are your answer and they are used in applications like throttle control, rotary mechanisms, blade adjustment and valves and the twisting motion provides smooth, reliable and precise control.

Because the rotational movement is more complex, we use EDGE Conduit for a more flexible cable, we have a red handle for high visibility.
